Everywhere else, a heavy suit in summer is uncomfortable. Here it is impossible. The humidity does not let up, and a fully lined worsted wool in August is not a style mistake — it is a physical one.

So Miami runs on linen, and it always has. Not the flimsy kind: a 280–320gsm linen that falls straight from the shoulder, breathes properly, and wrinkles in a way that reads as ease rather than neglect. Cotton for a little more structure. Seersucker when you want the air to actually move. Unlined or half-lined jackets, always — the lining traps far more heat than the cloth.
